Another perfect day for helping the animals! And Dr.
Tello's beautiful daughter Naoma is also a
veterinarian, and she assisted us today as well. We
sterilized 55 dogs and cats ....28 dogs (21 female, 7
male) and 27 cats (13 females, 14 males). We had 12
no-shows who had not bothered to cancel and thus they
prevented us from scheduling other animals.
The clinic today brings our total animals sterilized
since inception to 6,813.
Our next
clinic will be on Saturday, June 13th. For
appointments, send a WhatsApp message to me,
Dorothy Atwater, 6361-3234.
Please remember: my Spay Panama-Chiriqui clinics are
to benefit the Panamanians and the animals. I charge
only $10 per cat and $20 per dog while my actual costs
are $25 per cat and $35 per dog. I personally pay the
significant deficits. Please
donate to help the community and the
animals.
Dorothy Mae Atwater, yappy 6361-3234. Thank you! I
include a financial accounting in my web page
after each clinic.
We do not include a count of other types of surgeries
by Dr. Tello. At the end of the day, Dr.
Tello examined
a dog that had been hit by a car two weeks earlier.
The owner brought X-rays taken by another vet. The dog
had a badly broken hip/leg. Dr.
Tello said if the surgery had been done right
away, it would have been simple.
But the bones were separated and because of the
elapsed time, tissue had grown around the
separation. Today the surgery took
1-1/2 hours. A very long day for all of us! I
didn't get home until after 7:00. Videos of this
surgery are included in my photo album HERE.
We
also saw another injured dog today. Another vet
had taken X-rays and said the dog had a broken
pelvis that would require surgery. Dr. Tello
examined the dog and the x-rays. He said while
there is some damage, with medication and
rest, the dog would be fine within a week!
He did not need surgery. Thank you again, Dr.
Tello!
Tierras Altas
is in the process of paving the dirt road
in front of my building. They were working
on the road today, blocking the front
entrance. Fortunately, we have a side
entrance, too. The paving will be finished
before our next clinic on June 13, 2026.
